2-day refresher Italian programme
38 participants awarded attestations
Dschang UDs/SIC-19/04/18. During the closing ceremony of the two day refresher course for Italian lecturers and teachers, the 38 participants from different regions were awarded attestations from the dignitaries present at the event. During the ceremony, the Head of Department for Applied Foreign languages, Prof Albert Guoaffo in his welcome address stated that the department has made strides in promoting multiculturalism and has a linguistic center which had a key role of promoting various languages. The second speaker during the event, Dr Raymond SIEBETCHEU, the trainer from the University of Stranieri, in his presentation said the programme renewed the collaboration ties between the universities and the three key points of the theme of the refresher course was in line to improve on linguistic education. The Dean/FLSH represented by the Vice Dean, Dr Mathias Atsatsito appreciated the participants and lauded the trainer stating that 38 participants took part in the training though 35 slots were initially available. He stated that all areas of didactic and training on the Italian language were exploited during the 2day course. Dr Atsatsito attested to the fact that the platform was a proof of fine tuning between inter-university cooperation for the capacity building of lecturers in the language. He applauded the initiative while highlighting that such a forum will benefit the faculty and help in the spread of the Italian language and culture.
During the closing speech of the Vice Chancellor, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Brusil Metou Miranda reiterated the gratitude of UDs for hosting the 2nd edition of the capacity building programme in the Italian language for teachers. She underscored the importance of the programme as a platform to support development and improve on the teaching quality of the Italian language nationwide. She added that the awarded attestations will improve on the CV of participants in their future careers. Prof Brusil lauded the efforts put in place by the University of Sienna and thanked all university organizers as she hoped that the exchange programme with the University of Stranieri be intensified so as to improve on the country’s multilateralism and multiculturalism./
