Prelude to the International Women’s Day 2020
(Gastronomy day) Exquisite display of traditional dishes and talents
Dschang,UDs/SIC-07/03/20. The esplanade of the University Campus A on the 7th March 2020 was thrilled to a scintillating display of exquisite African dishes to mark day-4 of the preparations of the 35th edition of the International Women’s day. A mammoth crowd of personnel and students afforded themselves the occasion to taste of these mouth watery dishes on display showcasing the talented cuisine of the staff. Alongside these delicacies was the showcase of brewed creativity such as handmade jewelleries and exposition of some agricultural products. On the menu of the gastronomy list were dishes from almost all the regions of the national territory such as Nkwazap, roasted chicken and fish, fried Irish potatoes , eru and water fufu, Okok, Sanga ,pork vegetables among others and a variety of brewed drinks. This attractive display was the first port of call for the Vice-chancellor, Senior Divisional officers and members of their entourage to savour this various delicacy. They were later entertained to musical displays from the University orchestra and some female staff of the university with typical Cameroonian, West African and French blues. A short sketch depicting the reward of hardwork and positivity was showcased by the women to the amazement of the crowd and staff. Breath taking moment were revealed during the miming of songs when the DAAPA/UDs , Prof Timtchueng Moise and the DAAF/UDs, Prof Wansi Slyvie took center stage to interpret a melodious French blues who were later accompanied by the VRECOME, Prof Brusil Metou and all members of the chancellery board. A poem was presented by Mrs Behoudou Nathalie titled Je suis une femme, depicting the values of the woman. The occasion reached its climax with the special price of the Vice chancellor won by the Central services. /RN
