Minister calls on staff to avoid being manipulated

Yaoundé-UDs/SIC-31/01/18.The much awaited speech by the Minister of Higher Education Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo came in. He congratulated the newly appointed and enjoined them to persue with hard work so as to inscribe their names in the annals of MINESUP and the nation. Calling on all to shun from working for the enemies of the nation, the Minister prescribed excellence as added value for the progress of the nation. He applauded the creation of some higher institutes of learning nationwide, which will meet up with the standards for the State for 3rd university generation. The first university generation as explained by the Minister ran from 1961-1993 with the creation of Higher Teachers training College (Ecole Normal Yaoundé) and the separation of the University of Yaoundé 1 to six universities on January 19th 1993 then came the second generation University from (1993-2007) characterized by the module system of evaluation, then the University of 3rd generation characterized by the BMD system of education. The Minister satisfactorily revealed the achievements of Higher Education in the for 2017 indicating that with hard work and commitment more grounds will be gained to foster education in the nation in the digital and other domains. It is with this spirit of optimism, that the Minister later shook hands with all the staff present who very elated left the Amphi 700 at 2pm with more zeal to make Higher Education in Cameroon a reference worldwide./GC
