Athievement Forum 2020 – 3 key distinctions for the University of Dsthang
Dschang, UDs/SIC-11/11/20. On the 1st of July 2020, the University of Dschang was honoured with 3 key distinctions by the Academic Union Oxford (Achievement Forum 2020). These distinctions include: a Certificate for Best Regional University in Science and Education sphere in Africa, a License in accordance with UK Trade marks Act of 1994 with Europe Business Assembly (EBA) Awards regulations rights granted for a period of 3 years to use the trade mark as BEST UNIVERSITY and a medal of Manager of the Year awarded to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Roger Tsafack Nanfosso.
The Academic Union Oxford is an international academic association of over 200 University Chancellors, Scientists and Researchers created in 2007. The committees and the Union as a whole pursue the ideals of Academic excellence, innovation, accessibility and are committed to disseminating these core values through its worldwide community. The primary aim of the Union is to consolidate the efforts of scientists, educators, industrialists, and manufacturers on science, education and business integration and development in the 2Ist century.
In prelude to these distinctions, the University of Dschang was one of the nominees in the African continent among a host of Universities and after a second phase of consertation by the Socrates committee, the University of Dschang was awarded 3 distinctive awards during the 1st ever Socrates Award ceremony online of the Academic Union Oxford (Achievement Forum 2020). During this 3-hour online forum on the theme ‘Leading Positions in Post Pandemic Environment’, the Vice-Chancellor among others, made a presentation on the topic the ‘Innovative solutions caused by the crisis transformation of world education’ in which he presented the measures put in place by the University of Dschang during the COVID-19 pandemic, which received tremendous applause by members of the forum. The Academic Union Oxford during the award ceremony also presented awards such as: Achievement award, Excellency Award in Quality, European Quality Award, Best Educational Institution Award and Best University Award to institutions, companies and organizations worldwide.
With this awards, the University of Dschang stands to benefit from its participation with a Premium set of award attributes containing Best University Award Certificate, a memorable trophy, personal medal and pin ‘Manager of The Year’; a 3-years certificate (license) to use the award brand (royalty) for public relations and marketing purposes; Rights to use the university logo, award image on their website, publishing and other advertising materials.
This premium also provides information about the institution in the official project catalogue; a promotional video of the institution on the Achievements forum web-site and YouTube channel likewise an article in the Special edition of The Leaders’ Times e-magazine’ dedicated to the institution. This platform will also benefit the university as its Institution’s profile will be on an interactive marketing platform eCommerce Expo for a year amongst other benefits.
