UDs Signs framework agreement with private institutes of higher learning
Dschang-UDs/SIC-30/01/17.The conference hall of the Chancellery of the University of Dschang today hosted the signing ceremony of the frame work agreements and specific conventions between the UDs and 10 private institutes of higher learning.
Speaking at the ceremony the Vice Chancellor of UDs, Prof Roger Tsafack Nanfosso thanked the private institutes of higher learning present while wishing them a happy and prosperous new year on behalf of the Chancellery Council. He went on to reiterate the fact that students of private institutes of higher learning under the academic tutelage of UDs are henceforth students of UDs given that their certificates will be issued by the UDs, he wished that the rules and regulations binding students of UDs should be the same for students of private institute of higher learning under the tutelage of UDs. He further assured the promoters and proprietors that the administration of UDs has put in place measures to ensure the smooth running of the partnership. Speaking on behalf of the private Institutes of Higher Learning, the Promoter of IUG thanked the government for the trust bestowed on higher private education. He went on to specially thank the university for accepting their institutions to be under her tutelage and promised on behalf of the private institutes of higher learning present that they will strictly respect the terms of the conventions with the view of attaining higher heights under the guidance of the institution.
The signing of the conventions was then carried out in two phases between UDs and The Protestant University Institute of Yaoundé(IUPY), the Catholic Institute of Bafoussam(ICAB), the Higher Institute of Management and Agriculture of Obala(ISAG) and the Higher Institute of Commercial and Industrial Studies of Douala (SIGMEN)for the framework agreement, and between UDs and The University Institute of the Gulf of Guinea,(IUG) Bamenda University of Sciences and Technology(BUST), Higher Professional Institute of Yaoundé(ISP), Higher Institute of Accounting and Economic Techniques of Douala(ISTEC), Advanced School of Sciences and Technology of Douala(ESSET) and Higher Institute of Management of Douala(ISG) for the special convention. This then gave way to an exchange session where the VC seized the opportunity to remind promoters to always follow the rules and regulations binding the recruitment of assistant lecturers in higher educational system of the country, this is in view of avoiding inconveniences during the change of grades. The signing ceremony brought together ten private institutes of higher learning and was marked by an ecumenical prayer by Rev Prof Bouba Mbima, Rector of the Presbyterian University Institute of Yaoundé and His Lordship Dieudonne Watio, Bishop of Bafoussam diocese. Has the event came to an end it was obvious that the University of Dschang is brewing the machinery of excellence as its extends its prowess of academic tutelage to private institutions through such conventions and agreements/.
